WELDING PROCESSES

There are more than 30 types of welding processes, but the most popular are Stick Welding (SMAW), MIG Welding (Metal Inert Gas), and TIG Welding (Tungsten Inert Gas). 

Which welding process is best for your project? The type of welding process best suited for your specific needs is usually determined by the type of materials we’re trying to join together.

SMAW, Shielded Metal Arc

Shielded Metal Arc Welding is one of the oldest and widely used welding processes. It is informally referred to as “stick welding” or manual metal arc welding.   ​  

 

SMAW uses the heat of the arc to melt both the base metal and tip of the consumable covered electrode.

  • Shipbuilding and underwater welding

  • Farm machinery manufacturing
